Utila is one of the Bay Islands of Honduras, in the Caribbean, north of the mainland. It’s known for its coral reefs and many dive sites. The Whale Shark and Oceanic Research Center studies this large fish species found in the surrounding waters. Vacations are made easy with the Utila Lodge; you won’t have to worry about a thing for the duration of your stay. From dinner on the night of your arrival to breakfast on the morning of your departure, you are covered. Your delicious meals are built around your diving schedule and they promise that you won’t eat the same thing twice. All meals are included in the price of the trip!

If you are an Open Circuit Diver they really know how to take care of you. On the dive boats, you’ll be treated like royalty. Every morning and afternoon, your tanks and gear will be waiting for you all set up and ready for the next adventure. Ice cold water and fresh fruit will be available to you on each set of dives.

There are 10 spots for Rebreather Divers as well as a place to set up and break down your rebreathers each day and rebreathers are able to dive their schedule and certification ranges on most dives.   Utila Lodge knows that you would rather take care of your own gear so they really take care of us in the infrastructure provided.

Utila is small (about 13km long and 5km wide) and focused almost entirely on Utila Town, the island's only settlement, which is set on a curving bay with two small beaches and dozens of hotels, restaurants, bars and dive shops. With only a few roads, much of the island is impenetrable wilderness accessible only by sea.

Utila earns its keep mainly from its reefs and some excellent dive sites around the shoreline. Another huge draw: The Dolphins and the juvenile whale sharks – gentle giants measuring up to 6m long – that are regularly spotted around the island.
